Project Scheduler

Sustainable Engineering Services (SES) is seeking a project controls and scheduling expert to work on medium to large scale transportation and transit projects in the New York City Metro area. The successful candidate will work closely with the project leadership and client liaison be responsible for reviewing and monitoring contractor’s schedule updates and prepare various innovative project performance management dashboards and assist the project leadership with the management of project’s risk, budget and schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Execution of program/project objectives in accordance with clients’ procedures and guidelines

  • Assist in evaluation of sequence of construction activities and means and methods of construction

  • Evaluate schedules, project resource and cost allocations

  • Prepare schedule analysis reports

  • Develop and analyze KPIs and prepare trend tracking summaries

  • Develop and maintain various project/program performance dashboards

  • May need to interface with various agencies and affiliates and participate in relevant meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline

  • 15 years of construction or design management related experience with specific emphasis on P6 construction scheduling experience for at least 5 years

  • Knowledge of principles of cost analysis

  • Knowledge of principles of schedule development and maintenance

  • Knowledge and familiarity with earned value systems

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6

  • Proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, Plotly or similar

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Python

  • Strong analytical skills

Data Analyst

The first assignment for this position requires full-time in office presence supporting one of our clients in their digital transformation efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Structure large data sets to find usable information

  • Collect, review and maintain data to monitor pre-established KPIs

  • Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients

  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data

  • Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data

  • Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information

  • Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or Finance

  • Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques

  • Ability to reverse-engineer and modify existing spreadsheets and dashboards

Quality Manager

The Quality Manager responsible for the oversight and enforcement of the Contractor’s conformance with the contract documents and for the Contractor’s implementation or quality assurance and quality control, including, but not limited to, special inspections.

 

Successful individual shall have full managerial responsibility for a given scope of work and the direction, control, and utilization of a staff of professionals and support personnel (at least eight (8) or more in number).

Requires an engineering degree plus a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience, or the equivalent.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. The QM shall review the Contractor’s Quality Program (CQP) and the Contractor’s key quality management personnel such as the Quality Manager and Quality Staff for this Project and provide recommendations as appropriate.

2. The QM shall review and approve all Subcontractors and Suppliers not identified in the Contractor’s Proposal.

3. The QM shall review and approve the Contractor’s Inspection and Testing Program documentation, including but not limited to the Inspection/test control documents and procedures; Quality Work Plans (QWP); inspection checklists and records; hold points and notification of hold point activity by work site.

4. The QM shall ensure that a QWP for each definable feature of work (or one per specification section) shall be submitted at least three weeks prior to the start of work and presented by the Contractor’s and/or Subcontractor’s Quality Team responsible for the work at the Preparatory Phase Session. Each QWP shall be the basis for site-specific. No Work is to be performed without an approved QWP.

5. The QM shall ensure that a Preparatory session documented by attendance sheet, agenda and meeting minutes shall be held prior to the start of an activity. The meeting shall include a discussion of the QWP, checklists for each work activity, hold points, quality concerns and actions to mitigate each concern, Authority’s expectations, and necessary records to be prepared and maintained. In attendance shall be, as a minimum, the Contractor’s and Subcontractor’s personnel involved in the activity.

6. The QM shall verify that Hold Points shall be established and identified in the QWP for each first article or portion of work, including sample work/mock-ups, etc. The means and methods of communicating “Hold Points” and releasing them shall be established between the Contractor and the PMC.

7. The QM shall be responsible for the management of the Review Submittals process.

8. If the project includes Commissioning with a Commissioning Provider (CXP) or a Systems Integrator (SI), the QM shall be responsible for the oversight of all pre-functional checks, inspections and tests including static tests, equipment start-up and verification of interlocks for all mechanical and electrical systems.

Field Engineer/ Construction Inspector

Full time position in the Field Engineer/Construction Inspector for the LIRR Expansion Project. The proposed responsibilities include:

  • Performing construction compliance inspections of RR track bridges, facilities and other structures

  • Liaise between contractors, subcontractors and designers on field details

  • Answering RFI’s

  • Performing preliminary review of shop drawings and coordinating reviews with design teams

  • Updating AutoCAD drawings and preparing field sketches as needed

  • Performing design of temporary works and creating corresponding AutoCAD drawing submittals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineering License in New York State (preferred)

  • 5 years of field engineering and construction inspection experience

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
